Biological description
Potent tankyrase (TNKS) inhibitor (IC50 values are 4 and 11 nM at TNKS2 and TNKS1 respectively).
XAV 939 stabilizes Axin to stimulate β-catenin degradation to inhibit the Wnt-β-catenin signalling pathway.
Displays antiproliferative and apoptotic inducing properties. Also involved in neuronal development.
Robustly induces cardiomyogenesis in mouse embryonic stem (ES) cells.
